The article titled “The Effect of Aromatherapy with the Essential Oil of Orange on Pain and Vital Signs of Patients with Fractured Limbs Admitted to the Emergency Ward: A Randomized Clinical Trial”,[1] published on pages 431-436, issue 4, volume 23 of the Indian Journal of Palliative Care (IJPC), has been retracted by the Editorial Board of the journal following an investigation.
It has been pointed out by the reader that the similar article has published in another journal by the same authors, titled “The effect of aromatherapy with orange essential oil on anxiety and pain in patients with fractured limbs admitted to an emergency ward: A randomized clinical trial. Central European Journal of Nursing and Midwifery, 2017, 8.4: 717-722”.[2] The Editorial Board tried connecting the corresponding author; however, the authors did not offer any explanation for the same when specifically queried upon regarding the duplicate publication.
As the article in the IJPC was published later than the other article and the case involves the duplicate publication and gross infringement of publication ethics, the Editorial Board of the IJPC has decided to retract the article.
